What is automotive paint correction?
Paint correction is the delicate process of removing imperfections in a vehicle’s finish and restoring it to a “like new” or even “better than new” condition. These imperfections include swirl marks, “spider-webbing” from circular washing, automated carwashes, fine scratches, water spots, bird dropping etching, and holograms caused by inexperienced detailers. Most amateur detailers will fill the fine scratches. In other words, your scratches are hidden glazes or waxes and will only be revealed after washing several times. The only true way to remove scratches from your vehicle’s clear coating or paint is with the art of paint correction, one of our specialties here at TDG Auto. Once your finish has been corrected, your scratches are gone for good, but it does require proper maintenance to keep your car looking great after the detail to avoid putting new scratches into your paint.
How can I tell if my vehicle needs a proper paint correction?
Have you ever looked at your car in the sun or bright direct light and thought that it looked like it was covered in small scratches? These scratches are caused by improper washing practices. Many people still wash & detail cars with the old, circular, “wax on, wax off” technique and this is what causes these scratches in your paint. While it is impossible not to scratch the surface during a wash (on an unwaxed car), these circular movements are actually what put those scratches in the paint, not remove them.
The proper way to remove scratches is through the art of paint correction. Here at The Dent Guys Auto Spa, our processes of re-leveling and expertly removing the scratches is what makes our brand and services above the rest.
Once properly paint-corrected and protected with a sealant or ceramic coating, we can provide proper maintenance to ensure your vehicle stays looking its best for the duration of its life. For more information about Ceramic Coatings, please visit our Ceramic Coating pages.
